Well, it *seems* like it only crashes when being accessed remotely. Or maybe it crashes when the screen is locked, but I just can't tell unless I'm RDP'ed onto the box. I do not believe that the write privileges change when I'm logged on remotely, but we'd need an RDP expert for that. I do know that my other 3 active devices do not have problems when I switch back and forth between remote and local access.
Also, I'm not ready to generalize based on what happened from one night only. What I've done today is run about 4.5 passes of Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 Lite and a couple runs with MemTest (all I could give it - I needed to restart the computer!). There were no errors with either. I also switched my anti-virus configuration to make it identical to my other devices that do not have problems. I may consider vaio's recommendation to run prime later if I can, but I don't just want to run hardware tests indefinitely either. I'll check back in tomorrow (or later tonight) to let everybody know whether going remote affected the tasks's stability again. Right now, it *appears* to be running great. Thanks again everybody, Chris |

Per viktors advice, I have picked this up with the "Contact Us" crowd and I think I will keep working with them - it's getting confusing trying to keep both "threads" active and accurate. I will try to remember to post something if we get a good resolution.
Thanks again, everybody. I will still be watching this thread, so don't hesitate to post other ideas. Oh, and there were more problems last night, when I had an RDP session instead of a local session - in case anybody's interested. Cheers, Chris |
