Thanks for the offer of a beer, Graham, but I sure wasn't quick enough. No worry though -- my batch of homebrew should be ready soon smile

Re: The Gap - Join MOT and help close it today!!1!

Hi Dave A. The building I work in is not the tallest, its just the angle of the photo. The tallest used to be the Bank of China, but that has now been overtaken by a building with the catchy title 'International Finance Centre 2' abv to IFC2 for obvious reasons. Still neither is as tall as the Petronas Towers in KL or Taipai 101 in Taiwan. I believe all these will be overtaken by the Freedom Tower in NYC when its finished, though I could be wrong.

Re: The Gap - Join MOT and help close it today!!1!

Hi Steve

As a kid I alway had a interest in the tallest buildings and the land speed record - it was Gary Gabelich's Blue Flame at the time at 622Mph. In fact weird and wonderful facts of any kind. I have a head full of useless information smile

Are they still going to build the one with an O in the top?

Dave

Re: The Gap

Hi to all the MOT gang smile

I know I have not posted for a very long time but I've not stopped contributing to MOT / WCG and I've kept an eye on the stats daily.

I've seen a couple of posts with links to sites that predict when MOT will catch TW (and IBM Corp). As I've been keeping some basic stats myself nerd , I may as well throw in my prediction.

Since we started gaining on TW, we have been catching them at an average daily rate of just over 31,500 points per day and at this rate we will take the #3 position on 12 September wink .

The prediction to pass the last IBM team (IBM Corp) is harder and it is now looking more and more doubtful that we can do this before the end of this year. MOT had been making up close to 60,000 points per day on IBM Corp until the end of July but with the recent increase they have put in, we are struggling to maintain the gap let alone catch them sad .

Our average gain on them (since the start of May) is just under 53,000 per day equating to a pass date of 13 December. Needless to say this will only be possible if we manage to make up around 53,000 points per day on them - which is looking unlikely thinking . (We were on target to pass them by the end of October at one point until their recent increased output crying )

As our Captain says, 'don't go switching off' cool

Your team mate,
