I know you all think I've abandoned you again but I've been poorly with a Summer Cold. Been a tad stressed at work recently and a cold is as good a way as any for me to get the message that I need a break and also to stop me in my tracks so that I get one
---------------------------------------- .I see there's no end to the awesome crunching being contributed by this team. I think I've reached equilibrium on my rank within the WCG getting up to 1,347th only moving up 3 places in as many days. Need to put more CPU's to work to get into that top 1000. It's pretty amazing to think that 1,346 members are running more than the equivalent of a 6200+ Athlon for the full 24 hours a day for the WCG Congrats to Buckshot on having the first single CPU with dual cores on the team - need to keep on to Alther on that multiprocessor support It would be nice to know how you get on with dual core, temps and cooling and all that.Joost those numbers are fantastic I hope you can hold onto those servers for a while. Graham roll on Saturday. I keep getting WU's around the 15 hour mark but there are no real monsters out there. The (temporary) addition of the 20 rack mounted xSeries 345 (SMP) servers with 2 Intel® XeonTM 3.2GHz processors each, has only increased my daily contribution by 30%. Main reason being the WCG agent software is still single threaded (and the servers being true multi-processor machines, thus being under-utilized by 50%). The steady output of close to 50.000 points a day now jumped to 65.000 But that still falls a bit short of compensating for CD's partial loss. I hope rendering the trailer will be completed soon, so we can have his full power back for WCG ... Unfortunately it looks like we're back to the issue of render distribution software clashing with the WCG.  WCG has been banned from the farm until we finish evaluating a new workflow pipeline, which should take a good month. Then I can see how well it plays with the new software, and might be able to bring it back.Fortunately, we just finished a big project for Sony and the lead artist is on vacation until next week, so I'm going to crank it up until he returns.
