Need data on large number of workunit downloads while/after running a beta gpu workunit
There have been a number of reports that users have a very large number of workunits downloaded after they started running a workunit for the beta gpu. We ask that the volunteers who are participating in the beta test create/modify the cc_config.xml file which is located at C:\ProgramData\BOINC. We need you to adding logging for the

<work_fetch_debug>1</work_fetch_debug>

Once you have the flag enabled and you are able to cause the massive downloads, please post your message in this thread.

This is from a PC that has 2+ days CPU WUs queued with a cache setting of 1.5 days. Once a Beta is received it starts asking for CPU work. I stopped if before it before it pulled an excessive number of CPU WU's.

I posted elsewhere about a CFSW retread WU which claimed it was using the GPU. I've been looking more closely at the sequence of events and I found this in the message log:

I'm sorry I'm not able to help you with your search, but I thought it might just help you to know that this rogue CFSW WU also caused the issue you're chasing down. I wonder if it just might be linked to your recent file system problems. Maybe a rogue block is being inserted/swapped into some of the files? A bit of a wild idea I know, but why else would a CFSW WU claim to have been using the GPU? And it was just seconds before I started to get real Beta WUs...

Just for fun, I just forced the other one of the pair listed above to run. Guess what, it claims to be using 0.25 CPUs + 1.00 NVIDIA GPUs too! I've suspended it after 22 seconds in case there's anything I can usefully do for you. Previous and subsequent WUs appear to be normal.

If you are able to send - it would be helpful if you could send your client_state.xml, sched_result_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml, sched_response_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml and stdoutae.txt to knreed@us.ibm.com. You should be able to find these in C:\ProgramData\BOINC
