Stephan Stephan, was of course talking about the *Reputation* and not the work supply which, as was noted some posts up in this thread, suspended for CFSW. "Reputation" is *per science*, meaning if you switch to other sciences, you'd get work to keep your now idle cores occupied. Soon as CFSW feeder is switched on again, you can switch back. |

All 100+ tasks in cache errrored out. Messages now say no work available. Hopefully the techs are on it.

We have temporarily disabled the project until we can identify what is wrong with this set of workunits. We apologize for the issue and appreciate your patience while we investigate.

Now who got invalids because of this particular bad batches event? Non to few is my reading, so what's the worry? The problem is that if you'll get too many errors in a row, something that's very easy then all work errors-out in less than 1 second, your BOINC-client will switch to a 24-hour deferral. Meaning, even if you've selected to get work from other WCG-projects in case your selected WCG-project doesn't give you any, if you're not "baby-sitting" your BOINC-client your computer can become idle... ![]() "I make so many mistakes. Looking at my CFSW WUs in error status, it looks like some of them have ended up going to as many as 6-8 other machines and they all ended in error status too. Looks like a bunch of crunchers have been getting these over and over. Good the tech team is on it now and working on fixing the WU stream. Hopefully by the time I'm back at work on Monday or Tuesday, there will be an all clear and an opportunity to get crunching on these WUs again.
I wonder how long it will take to clear all these error WUs out of my error results list? It seems like as long as I have these sorts of WUs in my error or aborted list and they haven't dropped off due to others finishing them as Valids, that all my WUs from other projects will require a wingman to valid too before getting credit on those other WUs. Given how many folks here have gotten Errors the past two days on these WUs, it looks like a bunch of big crunchers here will be waiting for wingmen all over the place. I suppose that will give us little guys more to crunch in the meantime, but that's alot of recrunching going on that could have gone to other WUs. Such is life.....just keep on crunching..... |

I still have a hearty portion of CfSW in my work buffer. Based on various comments I've seen, I've suspended all WUs in batches after 14327. Older work is still crunching and I've not seen any errors yet.
----------------------------------------Should I be suspending ALL buffered CfSW until this is resolved or am I OK to continue with the older ones? WUs are now natuarally all coming back as either PVal or PVer with a few showing as Server Aborted. I'm hesitant to Client Abort them all for fear of device reputation damage. |

It seems like the CFSW WUs that came up before 8/25 are running to completion OK for me. It looks like sometime later on 8/25 the bad WUs came into the queue for everyone. So gordoma, those older WUs will like complete fine. The newer ones are probably not worth kicking off at this point. If the techs later indicate that they fixed things to alow these new WUs to run OK, then you might be able to finsh them - but I suspect in the end you'll end up having to abort them to flush them out of the system and pick up new WUs when they become available.
