I noticed some changes in the BOINC* messages in the event log (timestamp in UTC):

2012.08.16 11:49:48 | [error] Error reported by file upload server: Maintenance underway: file uploads are temporarily disabled.

2012.08.16 11:53:40 | [error] Error reported by file upload server: System temporarily overloaded: file uploads are temporarily disabled.

The old-version text "Maintenance underway" is now replaced by the new-version text "System temporarily overloaded". I no longer see the old-version text for the particular error (type) in my event log after 2012.08.16Th.11:53:40.utc. Also, the occurrence rate of the particular error (type) message is now less than what has been the case for the past few days -- one indication of the improvement in the resolution of the server-issue.

I must say that the new-version text does a better job of more accurately describing the situation on hand. For situations where there is truly a "Maintenance underway", the old-version text should still apply and therefore should be used there instead.
