New 'Members' posting links.

Would it be possible to stop new members from posting links, or having them in their sig, unless they have already returned some results, or have made a few posts before ? I dont know how hard the first thing would be to achieve, but it would be good for the forum and the techs if this could happen.

Re: New 'Members' posting links.

There does seem to be a rash of this kind of spam lately, although the techs do seem to get rid of it fairly quickly. It would be nice to cut some of them off at the pass, so to speak, if it is technically possible and not too much trouble.

Cheers

Re: New 'Members' posting links.

cmvi :-)

10 days run time (or 5, or...) + 10 calendar days of active crunching (e.g. 1 result returned per) will be enough?

Real newbies will have time to go through forums, find answers and if they will not find them, after 10 days they can ask.

Re: New 'Members' posting links.

If a new member has a problem that prevents him/her to start crunching, then he/she needs to post on the forums even with 0 days of CPU time.

I like the "no links allowed" idea though.
