Stats: Global/Project/Individual problem posts thread! [Post it Here!]

The midday update of July 27, 2012 shows the My Grid stats having updated [tallies] and having a time stamp of 12:06 UTC, but nothing has moved on the global and individual research stats pages.

P.S. This thread is *only* for when the stats have not run to completion during the noon or nightlies!

Don't worry, sir

In about 5000 million years (give or take a few million), the solar system will cease to exist. crying

f.a.o. knreed: Something not right about the noon stats totals:

07/30/2012 192:116:20:01:08 775,383,163 498,429

Points look hugely inflated, and it seems to be in the FAAH department.

Looks like the member swidaneel accounted for ~ 511M of those points.

Sorry for the delay on this - we are investigating.

Re: Global/Project/Individual problem posts thread! [Post it Here!]

When I add up the points and runtimes for all my devices (from the device statistics) then I get differences as compared to the overall values on the My Grid page. Currently this difference is about 6.5 days of runtime and 13286 points (after today's noon update). And yes, I have included my one retired device in these calculations.

Letting an AWK script run over my job logs and do the sums for the runtime suggests that the device statistics are slighly off and the sums on the My Grid page are correct. Can anybody else confirm these discrepancies?

EDIT: Now that I've had a moment to think about it: I think the solution to the problem might be that my first device was registered twice under the same name -- the second time after a crash early on. In which case it would have a different ID after the second time...

Sorry marvey11 , just added a footnote to the Opening post: "P.S. This thread is *only* for when the stats have not run to completion during the noon or nightlies!"

Kevin, thx for fixing.

Kevin,

On the quick look, the noon stats again show hyperpoints, but this time no any science is revealing a big bump... all subs are normal and total about 243,756,514, about the same 511 million difference there was before.

Re: Stats: Global/Project/Individual problem posts thread! [Post it Here!]

Essentially, this having repeated now 2 days in a row, all the WCG charts are borged for global and the affected sciences where the inflation happened. My program is designed to compute the day and then write it to a database and not considering that something flunky enters the equation, necessitating to rerun it day by day, as that is needed now since there are 3-7-14-21-30 day averages, albeit many, but not all are designed to exclude outliers. Same applies to running total records. You get this: http://bit.ly/WCGFAH... lest the next record subtracts the 511M, the cumulatives are wrong... The dashboard now looks ''iffy'' and that is what I don't think is publishable. Guaranteed to get someone to post [and sure enough, someone already did, even with this thread existing]. Log Normal.
