Run time credit

When you do these GPU tasks do you only get runtime credit for CPU used?

The CPU is insignificant for the Beta, but I am getting 50 points on average per WU, but my run time for Beta does not seem to be moving.

Not sure what you asking but I would guess the points are given for total time the task runs. The 50 points are actually 50 credits which equals 350 points.

Re: Run time credit

For GPU tasks only, time credited is or is going to be equal to 'Elapsed' time as shown in the BOINC Manager, which includes the time needed both on the CPU and the GPU **. If you don't see your credits [time] moving, what to expect if they run from few to 5-10 minutes. You have to do a lot of them.

** Don't know if the techs already made the time accounting adjustment for GPU tasks. They plan to also modify the Result Status page. e.g. the header now states "CPU Time (hours)", to also reflect that the runtime on the GPU is included.

Re: Run time credit

When I look at the results page it shows on average .05-.06 cpu time per result. Is there a way to see what the run time is for each GPU result?

Re: Run time credit

We use to be able to click on the result and get some info, but I think that was disabled because the pop-up caused issues with too many connections. I tried on 3 systems and it doesn't work for FF13.1 or IE9.
My Grid, Results Status, !¬E

Which pop up where? The Result Status page WU detail is still there. My FF is configured to actual open pop-ups in a new tab. Maybe you configured the browsers not to allow pop-ups, but working they are for me and most everyone else. "Runtime" is as yet *not* represented on the RS pages as I noted earlier in this thread, so you cant see that, and never could. Just CPU time.

Re: Run time credit

The website continues to only report cpu time on the result status page. However, the BOINC database stores both cpu time and elapsed time (i.e. wall clock time between starting the task and ending the task). For GPU tasks, you will be given the 'elapsed time' in your daily history and total stats. CPU tasks will continue to be awarded 'cpu time' in your daily history and total stats.
