How odd
----------------------------------------I knew straight away Jerky mouse movement. Kind of moves in a series of steps. Windows Media player has everything looking like an animation at about 5 fps or less. But MSI afterburner shows that a whole load of work has been done to manage the access to local resources hovering with a WU around the 50% GPU load. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, 1055T and GFX 560Ti running 301.42 version of the driver. 24% of my 4Gb RAM is still available. All 6 cores are flat out crunching at the time across the full set of available projects I'm sorry it's not better news HCC's Beta's are completing on this box in 8 mins though ! All 4 completed successfully 1 still pending validation Dave p.s. we need this. In just 4 months my 560ti has matched the number crunching done in over 42 years of X86 X64 - none of which are slouches | | V see my sig [Edit 5 times, last edit by David Autumns at Jul 10, 2012 6:35:43 AM] |

I had 19, all valid. Nvidia 570, Q9450, Vista, 7.0.25
----------------------------------------My computer was fine, no sluggish response. I was running my normal full WU load. During the beta my Quad was running 1 HCC GPU Beta, 2 CFSW, 1 CEP2, 1 Neurona, 1 WUProp nci, 1 FreeHAL nci, 1 QCN nci. My only concern was the high CPU use by the HCC GPU task. It was taking up over 80% of a core compared to GPUGrid which uses around 60% of a core. [Edit 1 times, last edit by mwgiii at Jul 10, 2012 1:55:30 PM] |

The error rate was definitely worse in this test then the previous. We are analyzing the data now.

My only concern was the high CPU use by the HCC GPU task. It was taking up over 80% of a core compared to GPUGrid which uses around 60% of a core. You can't really compare the 2 because GPUGrid is a CUDA app and the HCC GPU app is OpenCl. Nvidia driver support for OpenCl is poor at best, that is why you see the high CPU usage. Normally an ATI card CPU usage here is lower (20-30% in my case) because they have better OpenCl driver support.

Hmmm AMD PHENOM II x1055t 4 cores busy with help fight childhood cancer.
first PCIE - HD5870 asus, first beta hcc wu (around 15) with error after 2-3 second of computing <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code 293 (0x125) </message> <stderr_txt> Commandline: projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcg_beta3_img_6.46_windows_intelx86__ati14_opencl X0000038270075200409250029.jp2 ERROR: GPU device not specified. Exiting. 23:02:39 (3760): called boinc_finish . Another ( around 7) was fetched and finished. For test in the same time I try on second PCIE hd 5830 milkyway@home, everything was ok. 1st WU on hd5870 was done after less than 4.5 min. (CPU peak 87% for 6 cores together - please remember 4 cores taked with hfcc) I switch second card to work with einstein@home to check if anything like bandwidth affect time to finish second beta hcc wu. Difference was 7 second. (CPU peak 94%) Then i suspend einstein@home and I start test on both GPU go without any problem with other 5 WU. (I donât use crossfire) Motherboard is 890gx, 8GB RAM, windows 7 64bit. |

Quite remind me when poem@home go with new compiler (they saying they need that for new boinc client) , bloody hell the same story was there, they fix that after couple days against the code...:)

It's a conspiracy against older, slower, GPU cards. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ad,33430_offset,10#384328 |
