The validation catch-up might vary by project. I uploaded and reported about 80 DDDT2 results an hour ago and nearly all have changed from PV to Valid in recent minutes. The remaining ones are waiting on a wingman.

Personally, I don't care *when* WCG tech schedule the validators to run... they do, in blocks, more so since the new system was launched in March. All part of concentrating and distributing system stress [there are load balancers at work] for highest performance and throughput. About 90% of what my hosts returned this morning [nothing gets send before 10:00AM per my own client schedule] has been validated. Last night had 169 waiting, this morning [now] 120, when having returned 180 in the last 24 hours... good validation stats to me (and that's what counts ;P)
If it's past night stats and nothing has moved for you, call again [the validators run more in the latre afternoon/evening than the morning... UTC of course]. --//-- |

Thanks Sek, the info about the validators being scheduled to run in blocks is useful news, I was not aware of that......

The blocked or scheduled validator runs has existed for as long as I remember [FAQ's has an old time table]. When nothing else is on of greater priority [validations ranks lower to such things as receiving/sending work], the system seems to be programmed to just let them run... then observe validations within seconds.
As for capacity. We all know that there is this 6 minute midnight spill from 00:00 to 00:06 [Your My Grid > Stats History may show some now]. As what seems like a capacity indicator when in *catch-up mode*, the spill last night was this: 06/28/2012 4:351:13:45:39 7,276,539 9,286 That's 9,286 validations in 6 minutes or at least 93,000 per hour [runs in oldest to newest order loops]. This suggests that at current production of 1-1.1 million, the validators [presently configured, and there can be multiple for a single science i.e. it's scalable], can do the job in under 12 hours to keep up... 50% redundancy. So, if you worry that at noon there's backlog... there's ample resource to have your Result Status page cleaned by the midnight hour... and if it has not, it will be tomorrow. --//-- |
