Consider it as stirred by us and broken ;(. Something Sir Uplinger will have to deal with.
(And thanks for finishing those unwanted CPU tasks [though thought you were hunting DDDT2 at the present). --//-- |

Sorry Sek, I didn't see this thread. This is the one that should be used. Has anyone sucessfully changed this setting to "No"? Each time I change it and save it, it reverts to "Yes" and still allows CPU work. You peaked my curiosity and checked. I had set 1 profile to no earlier and sure enough after checking back it had reverted to yes. I tried it again on all profiles. No worky.

Yep, works for me too. You still need to select a project (HCC is the obvious choice as it's the only project with GPU tasks, albeit intermittant Betas). With the combination of selecting projects, and then specifying you want no CPU jobs, you control from which to receive GPU tasks. Select all sciences, and specify no CPU and you get GPU for any science that has them. Spock logic. How else would you want to control what to get for the GPU without doing more extensive science selection redesign? --//-- |

How else would you want to control what to get for the GPU without doing more extensive science selection redesign? This sort of all or nothing approach seems counter productive to the whole concept of WCG. What if I DO want to run other projects CPU jobs and HCC/GPU but not HCC/CPU ? I still think just adding a "Check Box" on the projects selection would be the simple and easiest way. As in my mock-up sample from an earlier discussion... As far as GPU only participation on this HCC project , it seems to me that it could easily be treated (on the project selection web page) as if it were a separate project. Many times new projects have been added and/or removed from the project selection page. This should be a well known familiar procedure for the techs and semi easily done. It is only a web page and an additional line would be a minimal change. Of course the GPU results would go to the same place as the CPU results and in reality it would just be one project , but the opt in selection process would be simple and easy. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 9, 2012 4:12:08 PM] |
