You won't gain anything by sitting on the update button.
----------------------------------------Suspending network activity until the problem resolves will improve your chances of preventing data loss. If you suspend network activity your results will sit there on your system until you restore it. I am still crunching WUs.

If you please, suspend networking in client Activity menu > Network Suspended. This stops the client from trying to communicate in vain and ensures that no tasks get borked, particularly on Linux. Wait it out till at least official Tech word. If you have enough work cached [I do, I do, and run with about 24 hours minimum for these events... now several days though due a special deluge], you can go away and hook up way after the *guaranteed* upload storm has passed.

@cjslman: You don't have to suspend the running of the WU's, just suspend network activity. You can keep crunching whatever WU's you have currently (if you have any), just wait to upload them til the servers are working again (and the upload frenzy dies down).

The issue is occurring again and we are working with the hosting group on the issue. In fact the issue only disappeared for three hours before re-occurring and it has gradually been getting worse. Well, get out your big stick and as Bill Cosby said: "Let the beatings begin!"   |

For the ranking concerned, My Grid was updated at 12:06. The Global data was:

Continuing to be patient, but my backlog of WUs are just about all finished - so 1/2 of my cpus are idle now and the rest will be in another four hours. At least I'll be all caught up!
Since I'm at a location now where my crunching laptop won't have access to the internet until tonight (about 12 hours from now), I'm hoping the fine admins at WCG will finally have hit those servers with a monkey wrench enough times to get them all to start working again during the day today. Then a couple hours of upload/download crush and by the time I can hook up again I can finally get all my done work uploaded and new set of WUs to crunch on again (at least that is my Plan A for today!) Otherwise my laptop will get more time to rest in the turned-off position.... |

For what it's worth, my uploads are almost complete but still no downloads. Completed work is reporting. Response time is back to "normal" (whatever that is
