Zero Redundancy for Say No to Schistosoma

We are starting to release the changed VINA application for SN2S. The announcement for the change is here.

https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,33259

The new application version will appear as 6.20 for SN2S.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Keith,

Does this infer there's [enough] new work accumulated to send out for SN2S and at what feeder priority?

From the insider trading department, really happy about 2 of 3 in particular that the team's been able to slash the EOP projection in nearly half :D

edit: EOP = End of Project

We will have work to send out again for SN2S soon. Once we are ready, we will probably start it up slow to ensure that things are working as they should and evaluate things at that time.

Yes, I'm also looking forward to seeing a few flow - as I haven't even reached my first goal of Gold...

"soon" on the WCG scales of time is "next week earliest", else a pleasant surprise if it happens soon-er. :D

edit: And to emphasize, this research ran at low priority for a long time due lack of volume supply in WU's... at 80% speedup, that is not promising in my book v.v. larger volume continuity. Can't remember a scientist posting since launch, so maybe it's a good time to insert some official words from them on the matter.

Re: Zero Redundancy for Say No to Schistosoma

Yes SekeRob, that's why I'm keen on seeing a few - so that I can at least reach my own minimum goal of Gold (ideally, Emerald) for this project ASAP. I was rather fortunate with IADS (and a few other sciences), in reaching my minimum just prior to them finishing, I don't want to be dissapointed with this...

As to the lack of input from the scientists behind this (and every project), I know we can't "force" them to come onto the forums and provide updates, but it'd certainly be nice of them. Perhaps, in the agreement for WCG providing the crunching resources, could be a clause that they provide a minimum of a monthly/3 monthly update - I'm not expecting a lot, just a simple "Hi, the results are looking promising" is better than nothing... Some project backers are brilliant at keeping us all informed, whilst others seem to go AWOL... I, for one, know which projects I'm most enthused about...

Re: Zero Redundancy for Say No to Schistosoma

To put it in the perspective... presently there is 1025 days on the dashboard (only for the nervous types)... at 80% speedup, you may do the math, how much that would be, and probably I'll leave it at that number unless... cool

Edit: 80% speedup is relative to Quorum 2 versus ZR. With repairs there still will be need for 1.2 copies where before it was 2.25 or so. Probably better understood from that angle, 1025 *1.2 / 2.25 = 550 days.... but that was originally projected at full share production. If the demand can't be met, then it will stay as it was.

edit: Need to put the glasses on for error free typing... blind 5 finger is bound to slip a few ;>)

What's a badge hunter to do! hope I can achieve Saphire in both SN2S & C4SW! LOL, only kidding, this is great news as the most important thing is to get the science done!
