I have seen how to change the resource share by using profiles in the WCG site. I want to manage the shares locally from within BOINC. I have found directions on how to do this, but I cannot find the options on my version, 7.0.25.
Is this possible? TIA, DrT |

Can you tell us what those resource share options were in the previous client you used [or what those directions were]. FAIK 7.0.25 has *no* added/removed local preference settings compared to 6.12 or 6.10. 2 options were reworked in how they function and were consequently renamed:
----------------------------------------Connect about every > Minimum work buffer Additional buffer > Maximum additional work buffer. Let us know. --//-- P.S. You can hack local files and change the resource shares (project weight as it's called at WCG), but as soon as you make a change on the web profile, those would be overwritten. Edit: The resource share value is stored in the account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml file for WCG in the line <resource_share>500.0</resource_share>. Hi,
The instructions were found here http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Preferences, and I have uploaded a screeshot with the relevant line highlighted to here http://www.mediafire.com/i/?77lyu9zh89tu8w9. I have not used a previous client, I just had two projects and was trying to find the interface items that I found in the wiki. Regards DrT |

The "Project Preferences" section, which is where the Resource share is included are only managable via the website. Mind you, the wiki is far from transparent in making this clear. I'll inject a comment into that section to make it unmistakeable.

TBH, I'd delete the highlighted line and everything else that does say one can change the project weight in BOINC manager.
