Optimum Reboot Procedure?

Whilst crunching away on my Win 7 machine, if I find that I need to reboot, is there an optimum reboot procedure that would minimise loss of computed results (such as suspend all activity, and then reboot)? Or just reboot without any special precautions?

Re: Optimum Reboot Procedure?

There is the proper boot through the Windows shutdown/restart menu, which for 99.99% does not cause issues and allows to resume from last checkpoint. There's those 0.01% who could stop BOINC first, via the BOINC Manager exit procedure, wait a minute and then do the shutdown/restart. If you like the extensive story, read the Start Here FAQ's.
