Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

I've got a late change of plans happening and need a favor of someone. The family and I are going to take a short mountain getaway this coming weekend so I need someone to grab a copy of the team data for Friday and Saturday. We'll be back late Sunday and I can get Sunday's then. I can provide the URL I use that gives you all the team data on one screen. You just copy that and paste it into a file in Notepad and email me the file. Should only take a minute or two. Sorry for the late notice!

Still looking for a volunteer.....

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

coffee coffee coffeeGood Thursday Morning MOT coffee coffee coffee

I bought a couple of used Dell Inspiron netbooks (year old) and converted them into crunchers. They are Atom dual-core processors and don't seem to be doing much work. I have gone through the power settings (advanced even) and the screen saver settings and set everything for them to run wide open but I still have a feeling they are not. If anyone has a eureka about that, let me know.

Have a great day; and if you can, make someone else’s as well.

edit: Archimedes would be disappointed with me for not spelling eureka correctly...wasn't he an English Major? smile

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

Have these got a setting for when the cover is closed (if that applies) to put the system to sleep? I have been looking for that on my laptop but am having some trouble finding it. Ah, found it in Screen Saver in Change Power Settings as 'Choose what closing the lid does' and the choices are Do nothing, Sleep, Hibernate, or Shut down. After installing Windows 7, I had to change from Hibernate to Do nothing. I wanted to check this out to make sure it was still set correctly.

Thanks dkt. Yup... I had that set to "do nothing" so that is not it. I have tried to keep an eye on the disk drive light today and I guess they are running OK. worried

Thanks again friend.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

RT, I assume these machines are using the same profile as your others and so don't have BOINC's throttling. Could there be some sort of other throttling on them? Could they possibly be running into BOINC idling because other CPU usage has hit that limit in the profile that is more than high enough on other machines but not on these?
