Hey Dr. Mike! How's the house search going? Finding any areas you really like yet?

Got a question about different browsers. With IE, you have "temporary internet files". Do Safari, Firefox or Chrome have the same sort of thing?

Yes they do. They are lots of things in those files. The web page itself, any client-side code* like JavaScript and of course cookies. Users computers store a copy of the web page on your disk in a cache. This allows you to go back to that page without going back across the net (important on dial-up). Things in the caches have expiration dates. Some very brief and some last days. When the time on the cache file runs out, your computer will refetch the page across the net (but only if you call for it again). You can force a refresh using the refresh button. That is often used when you are changing a web page frequently (something I do frequently working with clients).

* client side code is what makes web pages smart. Like the validation of telephone numbers or making sure you have filled out all the fields on a form or even the simple browser games you see. Code that is part of the web page and is downloaded with all the rest of the web page.

Hey gang. Tomorrow is not guaranteed; make the most of today!

Firefox remembers history, downloads and browsing-form and search history and keep cookies from websites you visit--I dont know anything about "temporary internet files"as i have been using Firefox since 2005--but in preferences you can clear recent history and remove individual cookies

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 57 smilesmile

Every time I read the computing for sustainable water forum threads, I get really confused as to how much longer they think the project will last. Their website says 71 percent completed. Other threads say like 5 weeks? Anyone else as confused as me?

I think Sarge meant this link: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion That thread sure caught me by surprise!!! Here I was thinking there was another year left (from the dashboard) and then, BOOM, it's down to six weeks. I think I can get it to ruby by then but there's no chance for the sapphire I has planned on.
