Yes, please try to reboot/restart BOINC. Windows is the key one for this, but since we did not encounter any issues with it for SN2S beta I doubt we'll see any here either.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Hi guys,
----------------------------------------Have picked up 3 of these units. Restarting BOINC has caused no problems so far on the couple of occasions I have done so but... I set all 3 units to be processed and suspended a couple of other units I have to get these running. First unit was at 17.5%, second 2.16% and third at 4.9% I restarted my computer by using the reset switch on the case, when BOINC loaded up it showed my first unit "BETA_GFAM_xNIMR_PfSub1_0024365_0114_1" had lost all time and progress, in fact it showed the progress as -100%. After around a minute, this unit jumped to 16.7% complete and has carried on processing, seemingly without issue. The other two were then set to waiting to run and showing 0% done and no time elapsed. I have suspended 2 other units to restart these betas and the second unit (0024377_0155_1) took around 30 seconds to show progress, down from 2.16% to 0.26% and the third (0024377_0060_1) dropped from 4.9% to 3.8% after around 45 seconds. On starting these units again they both started with no time and -100% before jumping up to presumably the last checkpoint. All 3 units seem to be processing fine now in the few minutes it has taken to type this. Am using Win7 64bit with 6.10.58 of BOINC. |

I processed one WU. It definitely rebooted because I had a power outage! It is now pending validation.

I got one of these puppies, but has not started processing yet.
I excluded BOINC directory from AV Scans. Not sure if anyone ever explained how to do this (probably someone did), but I'll go over what I did, in case anyone's interested. I have Norton Security Suite Version 5.2.1.3 Open Norton Security Suite Click on "Settings" (upper right part of page) Click on "Antivirus" (first item in left column) Select "Scans and Risks" Tab Under the "Exclusions/Low Risks" category, select "Items to exclude from scans" Select "Configure[+]" Highlight the directory selected and click "edit" (If you are adding another directory to one you already have excluded, click "add" instead") Click the folder icon, and drill down through your directory structure until you see the "BOINC" directory, and select OK. Make sure the "Include Subdirectories" box is checked. Select OK Do the same for the "Items to exclude from Auto-Protect and SONAR detection" category. Click "Apply" if that selection is highlighted, otherwise click back or close. |

I have some of both beta's running, along with some CEP WU's. Rebooted my box wih nary a hiccup. Of course, I am running Linux (Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit) so I suppose it was not expected for me to see a problem.

The four GFAM Beta WU's that my computer's managed to grab, all restarted okay after; a) removing the LAIM option, b) restarting Boinc in a controlled manner, and c) after literally cutting all power to the machine - i.e., an uncontrolled shutdown of the laptop. All I've got to do now, is wait for them to finish (and they're competing against the four DSFL Beta WU's my machine has picked up), and validate.
----------------------------------------PS. my machine is a Windows 7, 64 bit machine. |
