sad Stats orphaned in "old" accounts

Attempting to repair some of the mistakes I made when I was setting up accounts three months ago, I did the following:

1. In WCG I created a new account

2. In BOINC I Detached/Attached devices from my existing WCG accounts to the new account, et voila! New improved structure, but only new stats developing from offset zero.

I waited to see if the stats batch cycle would fix the problem . . . . Is there a solution?

Re: Stats orphaned in "old" accounts

There's no fix. New account, new statistics... it's not like a bank where you can transfer funds. Why would anyone create a new account, when the simplest thing is to rename the account on the My Grid > My Profile or adjust the settings on the My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profile pages.

You can always go back to the old account where most of your stats have accumulated and use that one again to contribute and make the adjustments there, then let this one sink and rename this one if you'd like the old account to be named pbenn.

I THINK, SekeRob can tell you how, you can also create a Team with all of your accounts in it and then at least all your stats are in one place. Boinc Does have the ability to combine accounts but ONLY Admins can do it and they HATE to do it as the Science stats can get messed up. SekeRob says WCG does NOT allow it though.

Re: Stats orphaned in "old" accounts

Making your own team is a solution and then rename oneself to "pbenn_team", as team names and member names can be the same ;O)

Whatever SekeRob is thought to have said, merging member accounts has never been one, not even by admin [at WCG]. Would it be possible at full original BOINC projects, then good luck to that admin. Think most all can agree that there's so much more better stuff to do that would benefit all.

Re: Stats orphaned in "old" accounts

My thanks to both of you for your time and ideas. I think I'm finished fiddling around. In the last analysis, if our motives are pure, "we don't need no stinking badges". Thanks again, รพ
