cool Summer is here- watch your CPU's temp

cool cool The warm temps of summer are here don't forget to watch the temps on your CPU's and GPU's. As outside temp soar into the 80's and 90's the CPU also reflects the increased temp - personally, I recommend water cooling - Good Luck and have a safe and thoroughly pleasant summer season

Re: Summer is here- watch your CPU's temp

Its only a concern if you live somewhere that will now have temperatures in the 80's and 90's. Just a reminder that this is a world-wide project.

Guess, each will know what applies to her / own crunching enviro. Down to 90% here now (The cherry trees have already been plucked barren... global cooling [some incessantly claim] and yet they matured faster than ever before).

Of course, the various dustbunny threads will tell on how to keep the cruncher innards clean, as aircooling it will be for 99.x% of is spare time crunchers. (wonder who does that for the tens of thousands of office / college / school machines... would they just burn [blame crunching] depart or buy new? Who's to tell...

Personally, I keep my systems in the cellar where it stays between 60-70F year round without having to run A/C and just Remote to them to check on.

I did wonder who did the dust bunny cleaning at our local High School--I tried to get them to join WCG and offered to help as a volunteer with no pay but the IT fellow was not very receptive to the idea sad
