Not getting work from WCG: HTTP error 0 [RESOLVED]
I am not able to get work and havent for many months. Any help would be great. I have other projects and they are getting work fine. I do use a proxy.

The problem is probably caused by what these 2 imply:

Something in your proxy. Possibly port 443 is blocked which WCG needs. What is the brand of proxy you have to get through?

I figured it might be proxy too. I work for HP and this is the proxy they require. I don't think they block 443 or i wouldn't get https on websites and that works fine. Any advice on testing? Anything i can tweak?

Also, it may need for the WCG IP addresses to be added to the proxy

Oh and darn, what client version was that again... 7.0.25. We know that 6.12.34 and up give that error in combination with proxies, 6.12.33 and below works fine. 7.0.27 beta may have fixed this, but you'd have to test.

edit: The alternate to fixing this with 7.0.25 in place is following this post, which requires unpacking a zipped libcurl file and putting that in the BOINC program files folder, then restarting BOINC:

These libcurls I hope to have been included in 7.0.27 ... don't know.

YES! The libcurl.dll file worked! Thanks for your help and hopefully it is fixed in 7.0.27. I wish i would have posted this months ago.

Not getting work from WCG: HTTP error 0 [RESOLVED]
Hi morfie,

Months ago the only fix was going back to 6.12.33 or earlier... Sticking with WCG's 6.10.58 is good for all WCG work, including WCG GPU i.e. no need to follow the Berkeley upgrade messages when only running WCG.

Anyway, good you're up and running again. Plz edit your opening post, and insert a copy of my post title into your's so all know what the problem message was and the case having closed with a fix.

Now the question is: Can those that have the problem please confirm:
As far as I know, 7.0.28 contains the updated libcurl which contains the fix for the HTTP proxies.

Specifically, install a version [6.12.34 - 7.0.27] that has the problem, so the broken libcurl gets inserted, check the problem is appearing, then install 7.0.28 to see if the problem goes away with having to resort to the extract zip file to be copied in.

edit: Fix quote closer. Would like to see more user confirmations of various proxy brands (Free Proxy, BlueCoat ProxySG, any other not mentioned with the issue).

Installed 7.0.28 - works
