Why not dedicate half of the window in "Primary Task Information" to community admin messages? Every day I see the same five lines of text telling me about Proteome Folding. At the same time, I see requests (e.g. "Please fill in your country information") and key information (e.g. "Linux client coming soon") here on the forums that virtually nobody sees.
Success of WCG depends on maintaining interest in the project. Some basic communication through the agent would support this greatly. Ian Team IBM Ireland |

The current vendor software we are using is not really set up to convey daily messages to the agent. There is a facility for sending a message window to a specific device for the purposes of conveying some information about an error or problem, but this stops processing until the member opens the agent. This message is not received until the agent contacts the server to send a result back or to get work. If the member reboots, the message is lost. For now, the best source of information is the web site and the forums.

I really think that this suggestion is quite good, especially when you look at what a small percentage of the membership visits the forums.

Yes I agree,
It sounds like a really useful feature for a future release. David. |

Perhaps the solution could be simpler! Currently the text in the Primary Task window reads "This project is determining how......etc,etc,.........to develop new treatments for diseases". I assume this text is downloaded with the task each time a new task is downloaded. Surely this could be changed from time to time to read (for example), "This project is determining how......etc,etc,.........to develop new treatments for diseases. ADMIN MESSAGE: Please fill in yourt country in your profile, and keep your flag flying".
