Project communication failed

Yesterday was a problem with it and today it is.

Give the modem/router and computer in question a standard boot. Oftentimes the issue then goes away (in case you did not do so already, but forgot to tell us you'd done this already).

This works for a long time without any changes and it was restarted a few times. I got there yet PG & WUP, both are communicating properly. It works on Debian 5.0 64b (OVH cloud).

Ah, then the place to look is your security resources. WCG uses https (secure connection) over port 443, opposed to any other BOINC project running over port 80 / http. That was a requirement to get large corporations and colleges to join. Typical culprits are Proxies, Firewalls, Antivirus and such like, where specifying exceptions to the *sandboxed* BOINC processes mostly fixes this.

For now, suggest to re-run the BOINC installer and choose "repair" and set a scan exception to the BOINC data directory in your AV/FW, path printed in the BOINC message log at startup.

edit: What security software are u using? Avast it the current reported ''false positive''causer.
