Mosquitos are an important food source for many animals, including birds, bats, fish and amphibians.

There are a vast number of mosquitoes that are uninterested in humans. I am all in favor of sterilizing screw flies, tsetse flies, and mosquitoes.

You are just too tasty to ignore?! Actually it is the CO2, mosquitoes are attracted to the CO2 in the air and bingo there is their food source, ie YOU!!

We should wipe out these instead

They are terrifying, mean, and I hate them.

Hello Pyce,
That does not look like anything I have seen in South Carolina, although some of our bugs use similar camouflage against tree bark. What is it?

Thanks SekeRob,
I read that the Asian Longhorn Beetle is a destructive wood borer that infests many hardwood species. Originally from China and Korea, it is now spreading through the USA and Europe.
