Is this related to the server upgrade scheduled for tomorrow? Definitely doesn't seem to be working right now...

3 hrs later, can't report, "server cant open database", results status page unavailable hope for a fix when they return lack of comms is a REAL problem reminds me of the final days of UD, another good project dies slowly What do you mean by another good project dies slowly? Is that to imply that WCG is dying out, in your mind? If so, I don't see it at all. Far from it, actually. Every place on the web that has servers (which is basically everywhere) can have some issues now and then. That in no way means anything it on its way out. at the very least other servers respond to user issues, there has been question of: 1. is hcmd2 wu sizing for server load testing, or just trash to keep us busy ( 5 days old) 2. validator not responding for last 2 days (now into 3rd) 3. steady increase in pv waiting for server and now not able to report or check status (3-4 hours) a simple "we are aware and working on it" would be nice starting to get the feeling that the only one that cares is the crunchers |

The WCG staff should have chimed in by now what with all the chatter here and there with issues coming in to the spotlight that may have been originally intended for the planned outage 30+hours away. Hello? Anyone home?

Given the disparity in time zones I suspect that we might see something from Sekerob in the next 30mins but unless he can get a tech out of bed there's unlikely to be anything substantive for 5 hours or so.

Reporting completed tasks, new downloads, and Results Status pages are all working again for me now.

People, calm down. I don't think there's anything to worry about. WCG staff also sleeps. I only have 8 C4CW WUs in PV with 6 pages of Valid results, so I guess the validator went trough all the backlog.

People, calm down. I don't think there's anything to worry about. WCG staff also sleeps. I only have 8 C4CW WUs in PV with 6 pages of Valid results, so I guess the validator went trough all the backlog. I'm now up to 11 pages of PV instead of 9. I'm sure it'll get caught up at some point here, though. I hope. :) But oh well it'll get done when it gets done... That's how I usually look at stuff around here. Only mentioned it to begin with because it was rather sudden. However, considering they said they've put in another validator shortly after that, that tells me they know about the issue already, so all WE can do is wait and let it do it's thing. i5-12600K (3.7GHz), 32GB DDR5, Win11 64bit Home |

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!
----------------------------------------I admit that I would like to see more communication but I have never doubted the dedication of the wonderful staff at WCG. I just can't imagine any of them reading these posts and saying "pah ... whiners, which one of you slackers stayed up with me for the last 26 hours busting your hump to keep the servers from flatlining." I'm guessing they are running crazy fast to compress the timeline on the storage project and still get the details right. If you've ever been part of a large project and moved the date in from 2 weeks out to NOW I don't have to ask you to cut them a little slack and let them do their jobs. I'm sure once the fire is out and they get a little time to decompress that we'll hear a some of what happened and in a couple of weeks this thread will have dropped off page 1 and be a non-issue.
