Supported GPU?

On the SETI@home website there is a list of supported GPUs that will enhance the number crunching of their work units but is not a similar list for WCG. Maybe someone at WCG could undertake a list of supported GPUs and add the list to the WCG website.

I am planning to purchase a Dell laptop with a i7 -2640 CPU with a Nvidia Geforce GT 555M 3 GB graphics card. I am well aware that the i7 is fast CPU but I am wondering if this video card will help in processing WCG work units?

Can anyone give me a definitive answer on this? smile

Re: Supported GPU?

Hello cehunt,
You are leaping ahead too far. We have begun a series of Beta tests to discover this. So far, we are concentrating on ATI boards. Eventually we will look at Nvidia boards.

Wait until we are running a regular GPU project, then ask which boards it runs on.

Re: Supported GPU?

Also, take note:

Laptops and GPU crunching can be a bad match, because of heat.
