Help Fight Childhood Cancer - 30 days left of new work remaining for target-8

Hello all,

This is the official statement saying there is an estimated 30 days left of new work remaining on target-8 to be sent out. After this, there will be a period of about 2 weeks where work will be intermittently available as work units are reissued for lack of response. The last batch of work units from the researchers is target-8_0287 which has been built and loaded already. The researchers have confirmed there will be another target available after target-8 which may or may not become available before work units from target-8 are depleted.

Thank you again for all your help with this project! Let me know if you have any questions.

For the answer, visit the "Crunching Chart and "When will HFCC end" threads. ;>)

Thanks for the response... the referenced thread isn't that clear to me how things are spread out (that's why I asked), but I'll draw the following conclusions: the 193 days left for HFCC (that is showing on the dashboard) include both of the following:

- the 30 days of target-8
- the projected days for target-9

Thanks,
CJSL

See, braincells work... they need so little energy ;>) Did say that there were 7 million more tasks to the end of T9 on March 14, i.e. included in the equation http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost_post,368872 . The 7 million got a little more because we ran quorum 2 from March 6 to about March 18, albeit at a low feeder priority. At normal speed we can do 1 target in 90 days, but share competition has increased since and will increase further. Add summer time slow down, and it is likely going to be late August for the next 30 day call. At any rate, 193 days yesterday adapts to speed, which is as said low now.

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer - 30 days left of new work remaining for target-8

Well I'm now within a fortnight of being able to 'go for the mega update' that I've been working on for quite a number of months now. The aim, is six badge upgrades (all of different levels), in the one Stats upgrade. As this will involve HFCC (from Emerald to Sapphire), I'll be watching this thread EXTREMELY carefully), so I'd certainly appreciate it if someone could post the occasional 'status update' (e.g., the WU name of a recently downloaded task) as to guage how near we are towards the end of Target 8.

Sekerob... I appreciate all the work you invest in the charts and keeping us "low brain cell" crunchers informed and educated, but that last bit of sarcasm was definitely not needed... it had the opposite effect.
Moving on... I'll also keep an eye on this thread to see how my progress is going on this project since I want to make to ruby for HFCC.

Thanks,
CJSL

Push them to get their next part ready. The machines are here and ready.
I once walked through a childrens cancer ward. All those smiling faces full of hope topped with those bald heads from chemo.
Tell the researchers to skip a few lunch and coffee breaks and get us the work. The kids don't have time to wait and then send those researchers our thanks for what they do!
