Resent Lost Tasks?
I just uploaded 32 tasks and when BOINC reported them I got this:

How can you lose a Task? Will I get credit for those WU's or did I just wasted the time it took to do them?

Got 65,000 USD for me? It's when the accounting on the client is out of sync with the server. The server thinks the host got those tasks and the client tells the server it ain't got them or parts are missing. One of the multitude of possibles is a control file got borked or a file restore took place... for instance on client restart the client_state_prev.xml was put back as client_state.xml.

The possible cause of funky error message was explained, but I'm not sure if a couple of TrustredDragon's questions got answered:

- Will cruncher's get credit for these WUs when this specific error shows up?
- Has the effort been lost?

They are lost in all the sense, which is why the client gets them resent because that 'Ready to Report' was never been received. How then to expect credit?

Chalk it up to crap happens due to a glitch. Stinks when this happens but it has happened to some of us in the past.

It happened to me on two computers. I lost quite a bit of tasks but unfortunately just have to suck it up and move on.

I don't think "resending lost tasks" is anything to worry about ...

Think of the process as something like this:

Server: I sent you the following WU's to complete.
Client: Hey, I never got those ...
Server: No problem, they must have gotten lost ... I'll resend them to you

Nothing to worry about, and nothing will affect your crunching ...
