I have limited space on my Ramdisk, and want to eliminate the files for the projects I don't use in the BOINC/projects folder. For example, the CEP2 files take up a lot of space, but I don't use them now. However, each time I get rid of them, they come back later; maybe due to a reboot.
How do I get rid of them permanently? |

To get rid of them is I think to deselect CEP2, then clean them out. I'm seeing similar with Beta. Each time I delete the beta files of old tests they just come back, to include the CEP2 beta files... and that's a nuisance to be honest.
------------------------------------------//-- edit: Yup, just looked and there's 2 fairly fresh 67.7MB beta11.gcaux zip files, never to be used again. Deleted them and update is not fetching new ones... maybe there was a server side cleanout prior to the Server upgrade. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 8, 2012 3:49:32 PM] |

I just did this last nite.
-----------------------------------------Run my cache to zero -Quit boinc -Delete all files in projects\www.world.... -Run boinc My machine is only attached to Say No to Schistosoma but it downloaded a bunch of files from other projects - like CEP2, HPF It would be nice if it will only download your current projects. ![]() ![]() |

Sticky files as Ingleside refers to them. I don't mind the small image files, but if the 67.7MB gcaux files is sticky, then that's a nuisance.
----------------------------------------Am though surprised that you did not do a project reset and before that set the client off-line. The way you did it, the client will remember which files it has to have. --//-- edit: from old wiki page: sticky: If present, indicates that the file should be retained on the Participant's Host after its initial use. Now to find which file has a no_delete or sticky in it. edit2: And found this quote by Ingleside: A reset will not remove <sticky/> files, and c4cw.target04.water-filled-filtered is a <sticky/> file.
