It is really nice to see how much thought is put into this thread and issue. I wish politicians would activate a comparable amount of brain-matter every once in a while;). That's the worlds problem right there....no such thing as a politician with such a substance. Edit: oops, forgot the smiley face. yes it is a difficult concept....
----------------------------------------also think of this project as an alternative to standard solar cell each time you get competition you get lower prices so more competition means cheaper cells of any type. myself I don't think of as a GREEN person... but I do my best i can for a lazy person.. i get efficient lighting, i recycle, I plan my trips to maximize use out of every mile i spend on gas. Personally I do not have solar cells in use at my place (yet) but being we get an average of 3 effective full solar hours per day up here (near Seattle wa) it is not optimum to put them up (yet) with gas prices in the $4 usd/gal right now it makes alternative energy's of any sort more efficient per dollar. remember Big government is being focused on the BIG lobbyists and such... and an easier way to reduce climate change and smog and ect is to make cheaper energy in any way possible.... this is one way. ![]() |

Haha, not quite sure this will be the solution to the global energy crisis - but hey, who knows

Hello,
I have just started crunching for CEP2 on a little i7 cluster. Before going further though, I have two questions about the project : - Does the CEP team guarantee that the science data, once completed, will be entirely, freely, and easily accessible for private and public researchers worldwide? This an important issue for me because I want to make sure this significant computing effort is serving humanity and not only an university behind its closed walls. - Did the CEP lead to any advance or progress in organic solar cells so far? Are you confident this project will bring some advance in solar energy cost and efficiency? Thanks in advance for your answers. |

Making all data available in the public domain is a condition to have ANY project hosted at WCG. As to sucess, there is an old saying. "You pays your money and you takes your chances."
