Why do I only get less than 10 hrs credit for over 20hrs work?
----------------------------------------Yet, I get the correct credit for shorter WUs (I got 15.5 hrs for a HFCC WU on another PC). Patrick ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by pcwr at Jan 31, 2012 3:32:53 PM] |

All depends how many cycles you allow one or the other client to use. Whilst, you don't really provide enough detail to go on... logs, elapsed time, cpu time etc. Without that can only speculate that BOINC was running showing 'elapsed' and only getting half of that time in CPU ticks to go to actual computing because it was doing more in the background. Then, unexpected interruptions have been known at times to not reset the elapsed time to the last checkpoint, when the CPU time really did.
Watson wants details, pretty plz, or Holmes cant deduce. --//-- |

Yup, it says, on "wallclock" record that the job loaded
INFO:[13:27:18] Start AutoGrid... and finished INFO:[15:06:37] End AutoGrid... The day after tomorrow we guess.... 25.5 or 49.5 hours later? Valid 29/01/12 13:20:11 31/01/12 15:26:05 9.43 171.8 / 166.5 You're hibernating to guess more, as there are no restarts in the Result log. Now we also need the stdoutdae.txt file [post on dropbox, same as was done in another thread running today] --//-- |

Well, you know, this is a log entry of the 4th:
04-Jan-2012 15:30:54 [---] Starting BOINC client version 6.2.28 for windows_intelx86 A little different from 6.12.34, so what client / system do you want to be investigated? --//-- |

Hi pcwr,
Is the HFCC work unit mentioned in your Messages, wherever BOINC 6.12 keeps them? My best guess right now is that your laptop hibernated or ran a higher priority task while you thought it was running HFCC. 9.5 hours sounds about right for HFCC. Lawrence |
