I don't know how you do it but I'll take some of the Gflops off your hands.

Detach from WCG, then use the weak account key of the donation receiver and the boinccmd tool to attach to the beneficiaries account. Think the command window entry from the boinc program directory is
----------------------------------------boinccmd --project_attach http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org weakaccountkey This method does not require to reveal the account password. --//-- edit: from the manual. The keys are found on the My Grid > My Profile. The weak account key can be changed at any time by the receiver. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 30, 2012 11:58:06 PM] |

You MIGHT be able to do it by shutting down the machine and putting the recipient's weak key in place of your own in the account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org file and then restarting the client.
----------------------------------------MIGHT. MAYBE. I wouldn't be surprised if it has a trauma and aborts all downloaded work and re-downloads everything again, though. ![]() Currently being moderated under false pretences |

RAMMIE,
----------------------------------------Not possible [without detaching], unless you do some advanced stuff with a second BOINC install on the same device, or creating a second data directory and point the client to that after restart with cc_config.xml using <data_dir> option and on windows a registry hack. With the old 5.xx clients it was allot easier to have multiple clients on a host. Come to think, the latest even allows to have 2 BOINCs instances running simultaneous, but it's not like flicking the wrist. An option created with BOINC 7 to facilitate certain project combinations... something along that line. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 31, 2012 12:29:22 AM] |

MAYBE. I wouldn't be surprised if it has a trauma and aborts all downloaded work and re-downloads everything again, though. You try that and watch what happens with the work already on the machine.... the effect is the same as detaching and attaching as I described in 1st reply. --//-- |

Yep, if it works then it's the same end effect, but it might let him get away without detatching which was requested. Personally I just detatch when I've done it. Prevents potential, even if they're imagined, complications.
