I'm trying to decide which of the following would be best for a dedicated WCG i7 system.
----------------------------------------1) Nvidia Geforce GT 530 2) AMD Radeon HD 6670 3) Nvidia Geforce GT 545 4) AMD Radeon HD 6770 The difference between the highest and the lowest is about $90 so cost is not really an issue. Thanks for any insights. ![]() |

Well at the moment it's a moot point, since there is no GPU work on WCG ... YET. As for which will be the better rig ... nobody really knows in the community and the devs are keeping mum about the whole thing, so until the beta work drops we're all pretty much in the dark together.

Ensure it's OpenCL capable and has plenty of dedicated RAM [for anything after the first release... with more future projects in mind]

Probably the best place to keepm track is the BOINC WIKI page,
----------------------------------------http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing I am hoping to add this capacity also, in a desktop. I have it in a laptop; but the heat is too much in a laptop. In a desktop, I will be looking at twin nVidia GTX580's or better, and with liquid cooling. |
