How many re-assertions do we need kiss Solely what's already lined up to the feeder and of course, parents generate more children, the children generating grand children etc, the parents not yet having quorum doing Sprösslings too.... 16 days still on my Dashboard, but at 111,000 validations yesterday, the stickshift is in the R of Racing.

Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

One the one hand it is a very good news that the project is reaching it's end, but on the other hand I would prefer to crunch for HCMD forever. :-)

In my free time I'm working with children with muscular dystrophies therefore I would never stop with crunching, because HCMD is a personal goal in my life.

Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

Having already lost my Mother and cousin to cancer (and now my Aunt has now had a 'dark mass' discovered and is awaiting futher tests), my research of choice has always been cancer. However, inspired by my Mother's selflessnes in encouraging doctors and nurses to attend to others before her, I am happy to crunch for any of the WCG projects.

I know that she would have been so proud that so many people offer their machines spare cycles to benefit others.

We don't have to, rather we choose to...

Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

Mean run times per task have started to tail off [more and more short running offspring]. For now the dashboard cooks up 9 days left before things truly go to trickle. Last time we had the forced interrupt it took 1.5 months before the trickle dried out, but would not count on it beyond this being a drop on the boiler plate... demand outstripping supply.

Mean task hours last 3 days:

4.028 8th
3.807 9th
3.697 10th (morning)
3.652 10th (afternoon)

--//--

edit: insert run times noting that the second half of day the mean time dropped further.

Today, I received my first grand-children WUs from 2248 to 2359.

Just being curious, ENDYMION IV

Will you continue to crunch at WCG after HCMD2 has finished? We really hope you do, there being many more diseases that have mountains of computational medical research to crunch, no matter whether at WCG or elsewhere.

Re: Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Phase 2 - 18 days left of new work

No I probably won't because I'm also interested in Climate Prediction, ITER, muon@home and Einstein@home.
I also try to work mainly on european projects and, as a French, on the too rare french projects.
Stupid patriotism ? No I'm just trying with my little means to counterbalance an european underinvestment in science and development.
