GPU Card Utilities & Driver Updates

Why not a topic on that ;) Should WCG decide on a dedicated support forum (with the future in mind), then this could easily be moved in there.

To start off, a long companion on my computers [when running in Windows mode], a spitting image of CPU-Z the famous tool for reading out specifics of you guessed it, there's GPU-Z to get the quick readings on your display cards. http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ . The latest greatest you can fetch here: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/

Re: GPU Card Utilities

Good topic Sek. For the Nvidia crowd, EVGA Precission is a good utility for clocking your card(s) and for fan speeds and other information.

Nvidia GPU drivers change often so you might want to bookmark:

For stress testing GPU and power supply, the best I've found is OCCT

MSI Afterburner also works as an Nviida gpu tweaker, it is the one I use.

I am building a new machine and am using an older for me, a 9800 GT, Nvidia gpu and Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate downloaded the Nvidia drivers and Boinc found the gpu and I am now crunching at gpugrid with it! I am impressed that Windows did this on its own, it says I am using version 275.33 and that 'new updates are available'. But since it seems to be working just fine I am leaving it alone, at least for now.

Re: GPU Card Utilities

I have found that Ultra VNC works for controlling multiple pc's from one desktop without crashing the remote pc. I use Win7, Windows Home Server 2011 and Win XP.
http://www.uvnc.com/ And it is free!

edit: it DOES crash sometimes though when you first try, I have had to do the log-in process as many as 4 times due to the remote video card not letting the screen redraw due it being used to crunch. /edit

Re: GPU Card Utilities & Driver Updates

On the drivers front, for the *nixers that have a higher end NVidia card, there's newly ported drivers out from the OEM in 32 and 64 bits, Linux & FreeBSD:
