Re: too late meaning

Hello ionu and welcome to the forums. smile

Per BOINC: Deadlines for Standard & Rush Tasks and What Clients Get These: Late tasks generally do not get credit granted unless completed and sent back before the extra copy is returned.

Sorry. If you are caching extra work, you might want to reduce that number of days.

Re: too late meaning

so I can abort those, they are no use if the deadline has passed ?

the points are not the issue :) but if they are not taken into consideration anymore, than I should abort them and use the computing power for the valid ones

Re: too late meaning

When you next "report" back to the server, the system will automatically cancel the WUs that are out of time that you have not started.

The system will also run the WUs that are near their deadline in high priority, so that it will hopefully finish in time.

Suggest you reduce your numbers of day cache. The system will automatically adjust the number of WUs it gives you depending on the performance of your machine and how many hours it is on in the day / night.

Re: too late meaning

I would recommend multiple days cache only on machines that are dedicated 24/7 to WCG. Otherwise the risk of having multiple "too late" is high. Depending on project quorum the wingmans will also wait to get validated if WU's are sleeping somewhere.

Multiple days cache is ok for intermittent connections when you can connect to the servers only once in a few days, but at the condition that the machine does crunch in between, otherwise same problem as above.
