Let us know what comes out of the ntp disabling. BOINC is stubborn headed... it does not like frequent > 30 second clock adjustments too often.

Faulty MB ? replacing the battery on it should not usefull till the PC is ON. do you agree ? |

Yes, I would agree that there is no need to replace the battery, not if the PC is on. More likely an OS issue, but if you still think it might be an issue just reset the Bios.

Actually, this is a dual boot issue!
Linux stores the Bios time as UTC and Windows uses local time. With dual boot systems this causes problems as both systems see a different hardware clock. Solution - Change Linux to use local time. |

Hi
----------------------------------------Sacre bleu it is not the NTP process to disable. I think i agree skgiven. In fact, i forgot to say when i used CEP2 over my velocirpator, i was under kubuntu. thats why i was able to handle 24 cores engaged on the project. I need to find how to stop that kernel message on the system log. IT is not NTP process by right cliking on the clock on the bottow right corner. please advice on that. I'm happy to understand that my SR2 will not be RMA :) Edit: i can't go back to linux with my Revodrive, just because it doesn' have any drivers under linux kernel and won't have any according to OCZ in their forum i have n ochoice to stay on seven[Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 28, 2011 3:11:00 AM] |

Is an admin or modo can move my topic to BOINC ISSUE general , it is not related to CEP2 please . |

Do you run Windows continuously (without booting in to Linux in the meantime)? How often do you get these 1.5 minute adjustments?
----------------------------------------PC clocks are famously inaccurate, but it sounds like yours is more inaccurate than most. If the issue is plain clock drift (i.e. no interference from Linux) and the clock drift isn't too large (say less than a minute per day), you could try to synchronize with internet time more often. The default is apparently once a week. I found this page describing how to change the synchronization frequency in Windows 7. Edit: There is some conflicting information around, I'm not sure if what the link above describes actually works. These two links appear to be more informative: * Windows 7 clock drift * Make Windows synchronize time more often [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 28, 2011 2:23:05 PM] |

hi
----------------------------------------Thanks. The synchro is performed each 6 hours. I'm going to analyse your links. Thanks [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 28, 2011 2:40:52 PM] |

For synchronisation, I'd say a thinking man would use Dimension 4 - I've been using it on W7, Vista, XP. Works a treat...
