Or he can just ask here and get the info from someone "smokin" the science for the greater good with 4 GPU's already. Everything really doesn't need to be directed back to EVGA forums. I simply thought his question was sincere and that I'd give a shot at getting him up and going faster since I was going to be around anyway in case he had any questions along the way. Whatever way he wishes to deal with it is fine with me.

Get 'em up and going of course. Great to hear the 550 is going. Collatz should be a good match for the 550. Just watch for any signs of errorring. NV designed that GPU memory solution a bit weird. It's uneven 3 mem controllers with uneven Video ram loading. It can be fickle depending on the cuda programming for projects. You can unask for any one of their projects that become habitually problematic.
----------------------------------------Also, that card has been said to run a bit hotter. Load up precision and watch the temps. Collatz doesn't seem to be that extremely demanding.... But I've never actually had that card running on it either. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 17, 2012 4:16:18 AM] |

Crunching never stops as long a the good ole electic company keeps up. lol
Just wish I could run 2 GPU projects at the same time when I have 2 GPU's :( Trying to finish off GPUGrid on one Rig and Collatz on the other. Every time I start Prime on either, it pauses the other program's running thread(s) and takes over ???? All settings are the same. Gonna have lost 10 housrs on my 570's and ?? on my 46Xs (I'll have to get up in 5ish hours to unsuspend Prime). Clearing WU's for the Prime challenge:) Hope I hear my alarm.... |
