That a techie, non-mermaid question, I'm afraid.
As per Base Camping: Base Camp is not a team in your orthodox perception of a team. We stay in contact at our Base Camp Forum and band together for Treks - we spent our New Year Trek here at EVGA, by the way. Between Treks we are on walk-abouts or with our favourite home team. You are welcome. You can still crunch with EVGA, and you can join the Base Camp Forum - it tastes almost like some kind of camping, doesn't it, Sean? Put Your Head On My Shoulder ![]() |

Perhaps this might help.
It is a poem I wrote many years ago. In situations similiar. I hope you all enjoy. Wunderlust Seems I wander still Thanks for this journey Free... Disjointed... yet joined Where my heart can put it there... Out... front... straight... Look upon it and see... It is me... for you These are my feelings Unfettered and unrestrained Wandering dark skies With points of light... guiding me But not directing Lovingly taking me there *sigh* |

I for one enjoy, Viper97.
Thank you for posting it. Poems have this quality of expressing a novel's worth in a few lines because they move something deep, deep inside you .... |

good poem to explain true giving. I have done same in past with my folding... many teams, many contests and many short term donation/causes. It's all good and better the more one does it. It's just about giving back, not where/who you give it back to.

I think it's just as well that the topic came here from the EVGA forum, since it would have been the "elephant in the room" whether it was posted or not. This way at least we can discuss it.
----------------------------------------Since I cannot reach into someone's mind and find their true intentions, I must assume that things were done with only good intentions in mind. Afterburner quoted Stanford promotional material which may be misleading (in fact, I believe it is, and have previously brought that up at the "unofficial" folding support forum). I believe he did this in good faith and not with the intent to mislead. While I did not see the deleted thread which followed, again I have to believe AB that the moderation rules at that forum do not allow him to delete a thread that involves him. Shdbcamping sent AB a note that some read as a thinly disguised death threat. Sean describes it as a gift based on his ability to foresee the future. I for one would not welcome such a gift, and I'd have to believe that most people would prefer not to know the date of their death in advance. At this point I think the ball is in Sean's court. I don't think we have the right to "tell" anyone to leave. Sean, if you truly believe that the message you sent to AB forecasting his death was a gift, then the best thing to do would be to realize that you had mistakenly given him your prognostication for the wrong person, and retract the entire message. If instead your reason for the message was not good intentions, or you cannot retract it, perhaps this is a good time to take up LM's offer to go Base Camping. ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by Punchy at May 4, 2012 7:58:08 PM] |

Well, we can hide our heads in the sand, pretend it never happened, and let it fester, or we can address it and get it out of the way. I prefer the quicker route.

The male approach is usually the most productive.
