@ lil mermaid,
----------------------------------------I'm 51, 8 brothers, 1 sister. Roman Catholic obviously. Parents still together. Mother always home during child raising. Dad run ragged at work during that time. Mom had a degree from college (where they met). Mutual decision for her to raise kids. My mom has always reinforced that to me because I'm a Capricorn and my dad is a Taurus... nuf said there. I chose early to get a newspaper delivery route early to try to take some burden off my father (he didn't see it that way) then another and another..... I was still in grade school, up at 4 AM deliver my morning route(s). Directly after school, my evenining routes. My brothers played sports... cool with me. When things got tight, my father worked long hours (really long). He wanted my mom to get part-time work (understandable to me). I talked with my mom at 6th grade and I took her burden so that she could be there for my brothers and sister. My dad still does not know. I took shoveling jobs around the neighborhood in winter, mowing in summer. Still keeping the paper routes. I gave the money to my mom so she could give it to my dad so that he could keep the house thinking that she was working part-time to help out...and my mom could raise my younger siblings ( I'm #2). Quite the secrecy trick as I look back. BTW, all children went through Parochial (Rom cath paid) gradeschool and highschool. I respect what my dad sacrificed for that cause I did as well in a smaller contribution role but easily the same hour-wise. My father could have had a very comfortable life otherwise (public educ). Only bad part was... I was the only child that never wanted the "sports" thing. All my life growing up, I was the slacker to him, I never told him that I was too busy or why and I made my mom swear to never defend me. I accepted committment early. Commentment can't be "taught", it must be accepted. That's kinda why I get a bit edgy when I feel my "commitment" level is questioned and/or scrutinized in any way by anyone or anywhere. Enough of that... Lil Mermaid, you have an odd gift that can get someone to open up on very short acquaintance, You are extremely annoying and at the same time, a person that one feels comfortable enough around to throw this stuff on the web just so you can gain an understanding... if only a little bit. You sure you are from Earth? Empath's of this stature are usually from "dual" empath parents or just visiting. Either way, I think I needed someone (you) to get me to say stuff like that. Thanks, Sean Edit: sorry... 51 so it's led zep, CCR,Grateful dead, Budgie, Rush, Styx and then into heavy metal. Just so you don't need to ask... I just got a Harley last June. Late bloomer, I guess. lol. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 23, 2011 12:17:12 PM] |

Sean, thank you very much
----------------------------------------- this means a lot to me, and I think you'll get deep, deep respect from all of WCGland for this. You gave us a precious gift - a piece of your soul. Please allow me: Tak er kun et fattigt ord - Thank You Is Only an Insufficient Word ![]() I ran the lyrics through Google Translate which did a decent job at it: Thank you is just a poor word when it comes to you, but in my mind live all my thanks to you I want to thank you for everything in the bygone time You were with me when it mattered, always wise and gentle. Thank you is just a poor word, so I say. It makes the world bright and great, I know you, I know you I know you. The mind's deep honesty shines in your eyes, thanks for all your love in a time that elapsed. Thank you is just a poor word, so I say. It makes the world bright and great, I know you, I know you I know you. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 23, 2011 12:29:27 PM] |

"Loving kindness
For all beings From a world beond the stars. Through the darkness Into the light We behold the gift of peace." A simple song with beautiful rhythm. Can't remember the artist presently. It was the lyrics and melody that most calmed my wife through passing. I laid with her hour after hour singing this to her when the CD played it. it was her calmest point at the end of her "persistent vegetative state". I sang it to her without CD support through her last 5 recurrent breathing cessations. Her eyes fixed and calmly looking into mine while I sang her song above. Then the cd started the song, she briefly lifted up a bit in the bed. she gave a kiss pucker that had not been capable for over a month. I leaned to her for a last kiss and she passed on October 2nd this year, Thank God for hospice and my ability to have her home and me with her when she passed. I thought Thanksgiving was tough. Christmas really sucks. Damn, I miss her and I just plain hurt. Sorry for that, but it's easier to tell someone that you don't know. And you can't see whether I'm crying or not. |
