Where do I go to set the Resource Share that WCG gets on my computer?

Go to My Grid->Device Manager->Device Profiles (Default, Home, etc). Click on the Profile you want to change, then at the bottom there is a section called Cross Project Settings", you'll find "Project Weight" You have to set it for each device profile.

Cross Project Settings:
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/devi...iguration.do?name=Default But it doesn't bother, if you are 'only' crunching for WCG. |

Thanks, that worked.
Frustrating that WCG does not use the same terminology that is used on all the other BOINC projects. |

There's a table in the FAQs that shows the 5-6 differences in the field descriptors (item 2.i on the Start Here FAQ index)... Project Weight feels to me more natural than Resource Share as latter infers a %, which it's not. The techs though are aware of 1 or 2 that they might consider to standardize.
And for the fun part, the additional buffer (Cache we call it) wont be working like it used to in the 7.0 client. No continuous backfill to top up and large work requests to reduce server loads (it wont be like grabbing your laptop for a field trip and being sure you can crunch off-line in the meeting room ** or hotel suite). --//-- ** And folk looking at you wondering why that fan is blazing ;-) |
