Excessive Credit Awarded for some Help Fight Childhood Cancer results [Resolved]

Due to an error in the validation logic, there were over 200 Help Fight Childhood Cancer results that were awarded significant excess credit (in some cases over 10,000,000 points). We are in the process of correcting this now and adding logic to prevent this error in the future.

We started the stats a short while ago and when that completes the issue should be resolved.

However, as part of the cleanup due to this issue, some devices, users and teams have had their expavg_credit reset to 0 on the BOINC database. This will only have an impact on external statistics sites and aggregators. The expavg_credit is a time decayed value. As a result, these values will largely recover within a week and completely recover within a month. We apologize for this delay in returning to normal.

The statistics run has completed and they appear correct. We will monitor the threads and system to see if any more discrepancies are reported.
