Being told by WCG to check for new client version when there is not:

Message log entry:

10/28/2011 8:07:01 AM A new version of BOINC is available. <a href=http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/download.php>Download it.</a>

In the 6.12.33 Linux client (only thing offered through the standard repository) a notice arrived:

Notice from BOINC
A new version of BOINC is available: Download it .
................................................. more

The more link goes nowhere, the Download it and message log link opens the WCG download page for the 6.10.58 version.

Figure that.

You got this in your Linux client? What do you have in your cc_config.xml file?

thanks,

Re: Being told by WCG to check for new client version when there is not:

Did a full clean rebuild with Ubuntu 11.10 and copied the cc_config.xml from the Windows instance which contains these 3 lines in the <options> section:

<client_version_check_url>http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/download.ph...ent_version_check_url>
<client_download_url>http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/download.php</client_download_url>
<network_test_url>http://www.ibm.com/</network_test_url>

The correct WCG download page was popped up when hitting the link in the message log, so presumed that the code is to be correct.
