Connection problem

1. Hi.
2. I've read the manual :D .
3. I cannot connect to a client; when I start the boinc manager, it starts to establish a connection, but nothing happens, it doesn't gets ready with this process, it stays in this condition; the boinc.exe gives more insight into this problem, see 4.
4. Here is a screenshot documenting my problem: http://oi42.tinypic.com/2lari90.jpg
The upper part displays the log file (I assume), which pops up, when I open "boinc.exe",
whereas the lower part is a screenshot of my COMODO internet firewall settings, which show that I clearly marked the 4 program .exe-files as trustful applications within the firewall...
5. I've never touched a proxy except for my firefox-browser, but this one is deactivated anyway. So, I neither set up a proxy in general, nor explicitely/especially for boinc.
6. I've noticed another weird phenomenom: When I click on advanted settings and switch language from german to english (U.S.), nothing happens. Maybe this is relevant for my case...

What shall I do now ? I want this stuff to work...

Re: Connection problem[resolved]

Welcome to the forums AnimalsAsLeaders
Conseridering you joined less than a day ago it is a installing error
Did you try unistalling and reinstalling the boinc client.
This one usually is due to a intalling error.

To AnimalsAsLeaders

If this resolved your problem can you add resolved on the title like this [resolved]

To tech and admin could you plesase move this to the appropriate forum which is BOINC Agent Support. And also this is a public forum that is *suppose* to be kid friendly so could you change point 2

Re: Connection problem[resolved]

It still doesn't work; I've tried it...
I even switched off my firewall, but it still didn't work... the internet connection was definitively on the whole time...

in the small, easy window of the boinc manager stands something like "detecting current status"... and in the advanced settings window one can see a "connecting to localhost" in the right corner below and next to the globe icon... well, and as already mentioned, nothing else happens from that point on...

Re: Connection problem

I can't stand it any longer.

The message is: This computer is not attached to any projects.

I suggest this might be the problem.

Re: Connection problem

when I open "boinc.exe"
Try opening boincmgr.exe and attaching/adding a project. You should find WorldCommunityGrid on the alphabetical list.
If you need to, disable the firewall and attach to WorldCommunityGrid.
