When i look at the statistics of me or other users, all the average-data seems to be calculated over the complete time since joining WCG.
It would be useful to set a it fix to last xxx days, i think more than 1 year doesnt make any sense. I want staticstics about my actual hardware not all the PCs in the past also included. The only way to get these statistics at the moment are external websites. :/ |

I completely agree. When I first started I was amazed at how quickly I moved up the rankings.

You may find so many disagreements that that is why it was set to "since you joined". In the the first few months it did not make any difference.

The only way to get these statistics at the moment are external websites. :/ I agree that the averaged values currently provided by WCG statistics are of little interest and that they should be simply replaced by averages on a shorter period. However, if you are interested in statistics like most of us are, you should not expect that WCG will ever provide anything close to what specialised statistics sites offer. These sites will always be ahead of what WCG or the BOINC team can afford as far as development time is concerned. And personally I like it this way: - BOINC must make grid computing as reliable and easy to use as possible - WCG must ensure the continuity of operations, look for new valuable projects and enable them - and statistics sites will provide as many statistics as they can imagine. ![]() |

The big question is --- what is the value of xxx? The best way would be to set xxx manually ;) 1 year would also be OK. The statistics that interests me are: Averages: Avg. Run Time Per Calendar Day (y:d:h:m:s) Avg. Run Time Per Result (y:d:h:m:s) Avg. Points Per Hour of Run Time Avg. Points Per Calendar Day Avg. Points Per Result Avg. Results Per Calendar Day And most of them i dont get at any other statistics-site (afaik) |

You've also got the possibility to calculate per-computer since these stats is also available. Since you're doing the calculations yourself, it's also easy to select the period yourself. The only problem you're likely to hit is if one or more of the days you've not got anything credited, since this gives less days with the average than for the actual period. It would have been easy to correct for these multiple days, except that unfortunately WCG uses the backward american date-formatting, and this screws-up things. For other users on the other hand, AFAIK this info isn't available, so it's not possible to compare to someone else. ![]() ![]() "I make so many mistakes. Since I am retired, this, among other things, helps keep my brain active. Let's not divert WCG energy from processing research data. ![]() crunching, crunching, crunching. I still can't find a free lunch anywhere I've tried: the slicing and dicing of userData at the clientSide does take up some processingPower that would have gone to crunching WUs instead. Sigh..
