BOINC is designed to check that the type of CPU that downloads is still valid when the result uploads. At least, I seem to remember that this can be a problem when using sneaker-net to download on one machine and compute on another machine. I suspect that your computer is good. You just ran into a problem caused by the design of BOINC. Lawrence My old problem with my cpu swap ... if you swap cpu, Boinc think you are a hacker and zap your stuff ... i think it might works if you create a new device profile for the machine, to do so you need i think to rename your machine and reinstall Boinc ... Last fall i solved my problem differently ... I didnt had time to debug Boinc stuff and rename my server etc ... that server need to keep it name and to keep running... so i uninstalled Boinc from that machine and since this home server run nearly 24/7 without a problem :-) Anyway i also at that time remove Boinc from another machine running XP too .. so no more old XP machine here works for Boinc ... Boinc just lost 2 pc there , but who cares :o) btw when you remove Boinc be sure to clean your registry by hand, Boinc let alot of registry keys there ... :o) EDIT I fixed Boinc spellling, it seems to be an important thing ! It's not important at all, just noticed you did it a half dozen times in the same post. boinic and bionic are other popular variation... no idea why.
