I have an invalid result on the Leischmaniasis run - but there were no errors in the log or message box.
Since this run takes quite a time to run this, it is very disapoointing to get an invalid result.. Why was this - other runs on Cancer + Water etc ended perfectly OK: NT |

Yes it can be disappointing to get invalid results.
Were there two wingmens and are they both valid? Is this your first DSFL task? If so try another one or two and see how they turn out. It could be a problem with the work unit itself. |

It may be possible a virus is on your comp (since those can affect system operation) or some sort of processing error occurred due to a temporary power failure. May be a corruption in the transmission of data?
Of course the error may be on WCG end. As long as the vast majority of the work is valid then you should be happy. If you get more invalid or work that says errors then it may be time to do some problem hunting on your end. Some work tasks seem more prone to error. Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2 on my end had one error but out of the 19 required for replication sent out five other people getting them had an error on the task. Other people were ruled valid. Still got some work credit for the computation done. |

Nigel,
Which exact CPU have you got? This is NOT virus related! With DSFL, sometimes the pairings of CPU wingmen gives an slightly unequal result and then a 2nd opinion (3rd computed copy) determines which 2 of the 3 computed results are matching to satisfy the validators. Nothing wrong with the computer either. The techs have it on their bug list to check into and appears from member reports to concentrate on a couple of specific AMD CPUs. As invalid of no fault to those with these AMD CPU's, the time is added to the My Grid statistics. When it happens more often, suggest to de-select this science for that device ** and await feedback from the Techs. Sorry. --//-- ** Device can be associated to a different profile that has DSFL excluded in the science selection. |

I was just listing the possibilities that can cause the number crunching to not be accurate.
It's always a good idea to keep an anti-virus up to date. Lots of nasty ones these days that hijack websites and the comp that goes to visit said website. |

No, I do not think this is a viris problem. My Norton Virus scanner is up to date and I regularly activate scans as well as running MS Malware detection program.
I have quite a few successful runs ie about 197 Days processing time and this is the first case I have had of invalid results occuring and since this is a new module I was wondering if the Module has a problem. My next Task - starting in about 2 hours from now - is another Leishmaniasis Task. |

As a mod stated it appeared the project has issues with certain AMD processors and was wanting to know if you had one with the model. Seems they are working on resolving it.
I have had an error in a module due to a bluescreen. The Bluescreen was caused by some program that windows defender upon scanning recommend be removed. Bluescreens disappeared after that. Real annoying since it made me lose a lot of work for ibercivis (it caused bionic to detach from the program) and milkyway at home caused it to render a lot of runs invalid. Right now my computer is crunching and rendering the majority of the new tasks with valid results. Real irritating when 9 hours of run time on a task is made invalid due to a bluescreen caused by some third party software you didn't know was in your comp. |

I get frequently (50%) get Inconclusives when I suspend, start a new task, and then resume. Of these Inconclusives about 50% go Invalid. This is on a rock solid i7-920 Win7 x64. Plenty of memory, LAIM is turned on.

Strange I never get an invalid after suspending then resuming a task. Did you turn on the option to keep the suspended tasks in memory?
