I haven't been following HFCC too closely... does anyone know the likelyhood of a Target 11 release? I would like to crunch on HFCC, but only if I can get a sapphire badge doing so. It would take me 8 weeks. If I knew target 11 was coming, i'd get a jump start now.

It would take me 8 weeks. If I knew target 11 was coming, i'd get a jump start now. Estimate is at 5% per week there is about 13 weeks left. You should be able to make your sapphire with target 10 at the present rate. Thanks Sarge! I think I will be safe and wait for a possible Target 11 to make a run on a 2-year badge. Until then, I have a few other projects to work on!

In my experience with WCG, if you really want your badge, go for it with highest priority. Projects tend to finish (much) earlier than any predictions, once the end is announced.
 The "Ah, it seems there is still time."-way of thinking usually ends up in a "Oh, I will never attain my target anymore!"-feeling when projected ends suddenly change from 13 weeks to 35 days to 1 week to "mopping up". Personally, I always get any new project asap to my target, and when reached then go back to general crunching. This proved useful in avoiding disappointments. |

Good advice rembertw. That is my strategy going forward. I took a break from WCG while I crunched a few years for SETI and now am trying to catch up. My goal is to have only sapphire badges plus the beta. It may seem silly, but we all have our quirks.

Target 11 sighted... The dashboard shows 112 days of work. Sapphire or bust! Leave some WU for us little guys. :-)
