HTTP error 0

Hi,
since some days I cannot upload completed WUs to WCG: every upload transfers about 2kB, then aborts and in the BOINC log I get the messagg "HTTP error".

I then tried reseting WCG, but it looks there are still problems, since the communication with the server fails with HTTP error 0:
14/09/2011 8.32.30 | World Community Grid | update requested by user
14/09/2011 8.32.31 | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
14/09/2011 8.32.31 | World Community Grid | Not reporting or requesting tasks
14/09/2011 8.32.35 | World Community Grid | Scheduler request failed: HTTP error 0

I can connect to the Internet through either 2 proxies, none of which ever gave me problems with WCG in the recent past, and i tried both, with the same result.

Also, the BOINC-client on same host is connected to many other BOINC-projects, none of which shows persistent communication problems.

Finally, I can browse WCG website without problems from the same host

Any idea about what might be wrong?

Thanks

darkpella

Re: HTTP error 0

I have no problem with upload on WCG. So the problem is not with WCG servers.

Check this link:
http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?view=258&language=1

As usual first is to check what has changed, I mean what was done before things went wrong. Any new software installed like antivirus or a security kit? Any OS upgrade? Any changes to your internet connection/provider? Have you changed the boinc manager version? Have you done any changes on ports status etc. etc.

Hope this helps

Re: HTTP error 0

Well, I did recently upgrade to rel 6.12.34 of BOINC client, but I still can't understand why it can communicate with every other project but WCG..

I guess I'll have to uninstall and reinstall BOINC..

Re: HTTP error 0

Hi,

Maybe visit the recently added article on IP addresses in the Start Here forum. Not expecting so, but there were changes/additions, but that happened like over 1 month ago.

To communicate with the WCG BOINC servers both port 80 [or 8080] and 443 must be open. Some had success with the 8080 port, suspecting it is really in your proxies.

Re: HTTP error 0

Hello,
I did the same update to BOINC 6.12.34 and it can't connect to WCG, every communication attempt resulting in a "HTTP error 0" message.

I tried uninstalling BOINC 6.12.34 and reverting to BOINC 6.10.58 and everything with WCG went back OK.

Another thread on this problem at:

Best regards,
Yves
